A Thank You Gift Card - Cheep Talk

Have you ever lost something you thought you would never get back?  Well...Tuesday around midnight I went to use my IPad and couldn't find it.  Back tracking my steps I felt certain I had left it in the front of the grocery cart that morning!  I called Kroger to find that they were closed so I couldn't sleep all night.
The next morning I drove to Kroger hoping it was there and yet feeling sure it was gone.

To my surprise...it was found and given to customer service.  So today's card is a thank you card for the person who returned it.

I decided to use one of my favorite retiring stamp sets... Cheep Talk.  It has two really cute birds that I use often.  The card I decided on is one of my go to gift card holders. I'm not sure exactly where I learned to make this card but there are several You Tube videos out there that will show you step by step.

When you untie the ribbon the Top Note opens and there is a gift or money holder inside.

It looks complicated but it's really very simple.

Remember...time is running out to order any retiring stamp sets you might be interested in.  If you are interested in Cheep Talk or any others please make sure you place your order by June 30.  The new catty comes out July 1...are you as excited as I am?

Sneak Peak of Stampin' Up!s New In Colors

Here's a sneak peek of Stampin' Up!s new In Colors.  You might not want to place all five colors on the same card but I wanted to show them off today.   Five fun and exciting colors.  I even love the names...Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder. Island Indigo, and Pool Party.

I am using the Pennant Parade stamp set again today.  Changing the colors gives it a completely different look then the one I did for Father's Day.

The 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon (one of my favorites) will no longer be available in white when supplies are gone.

The Outlawz Sunday CAS (clean and simple) Challenge was to make a graduation or congratulation card.  This is the one I will be posting.  Click here to join the fun.  Hope to see you there.

Paper Ala Mode Challenge on Outlawz

The Saturday Scrap Booking Challenge on Outlawz has changed it's name to Paper Ala Mode.  It is open to all kinds of projects now not just scrap book layouts.
The challenge this week was to make a project that used two patterned papers, one piece of card stock, a decorated paper clip, a ribbon, a photo, and journaling or a title.  WOW!

I decided to submit an 8 1/2 by 11 inch scrap book page but one done with My Digital Studio.  Wasn't Abby sweet.  She still is but all grown up now.  So glad I finally have these pictures on a page.

And it was quick and easy!  So, if you don't have enough time in the day to do traditional scrap booking but still want to preserve your family memories this may be a wonderful option for you.  And if you are already a traditional scrap booker you might find hybrid layouts a way to get more pages done in a shorter amount of time.  Please feel free to contact me for further information on this software.

Now...if you are up for a challenge or just a fun time head on over to Outlawz and click on the Challenge tab.  I'm sure you will find one that interests you.

Happy Father's Day Card

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Father's Day.  Both my boys were able to spend the day with us and that is always fun and exciting!  They decided to get their dad a pizza stone for his Big Green Egg.  Looks like we will be having yummy pizza in the near future.  At least I hope so.  As he has learned to cook on his egg we have had some great meals and.....some not so great ones.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I am posting the card I made for the boys to give with their gift.  The stamp set is one that will be in the new Catalog available on July 1.  It 's called Pennant Parade and there's a matching punch to go with it!  Wait until you see some of the ways you can use this stamp set.  Besides flags and banners think ice cream cones and christmas trees.

If you would like to pre-order the new catalog please let me know by this Thursday the 23rd.  Wouldn't you love to have the new catty in your hands on July 1?  I have been thumbing through mine over and over again and making my wish list.

Also, don't forget the month of June is half over.  Check out the retiring lists by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.  There are some favorites in both stamp sets and accessories. Your last day to order from the current catalog is June 30.

Baby Buggy Card

My son's girlfriend is visiting before they both go back to Notre Dame next week.  It's been a great visit! She needed a card to go along with a baby gift she's giving to a friend so I thought it would be fun to do a baby buggy card.  The ones I've seen online use the scallop circle die.  Since I don't own that die...yet, I thought I would use a 5 inch circle made with the Stampin' Up' Circle Scissor Plus.  It makes perfect circles and it's so easy to use.

I decorated the buggy with the Scallop Trim Border.

Close up of the tag, bow, and Basic Pearls.

The "love" sentiment is from the So Cute stamp set.  It is one of the sets that is retiring.  It has been one of my favorites.  I use it for baby, Easter, birthday...cute and versatile.
June 30 is the last day to purchase items from the retiring lists.  Click on the tab at the top to view these lists.

The congratulations I used on the inside of the card is from the Swirls and Curls Verses in the Summer Mini.  It's one of our hostess sets.  Book a workshop and you can earn this stamp free.  Let me tell you how.

I had a lot of fun with this card...hope you enjoyed it.

My Pictures Are Back!!!

I 'm happy to say that the problem I had with missing pictures on my blog has now been repaired.  Yes!!!   I had to work all weekend repairing it in between all my weekend activities therefore I've had no time for stamping.  I did want to show you a card I made last week when I was stamping the Fabulous Florets card for the Outlawz challenge.  I did the same card in a different color combination.

With this one I watercolored the flowers with Old Olive and Daffodil Yellow markers using an aqua painter.  I went with Old Olive 1 1/4 inch Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added some paper piercing at the bottom on each side of the sentiment.

I love the dramatic effect of the first card in black, white, and red but I like this one too.  Which is your favorite?

Missing Pictures

Sorry if some of my pictures are missing.  I expect it to get worse before it gets better.  A technical error...or as my computer engineer husband would say... operator error 101.  To give me the benefit of the doubt he says this is more like error 105.  :)  I will be fixing the problem as soon as possibile.

If you have a problem viewing please stop back tomorrow.  Thanks

CAS Fabulous Florets

The CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge This Sunday at Outlawz was to make a summer card.  But...you had to choose one item from 3 categories and include them in your design.

My summer theme: flowers
Colors: Red, Black, and White
Technique: One Layer Card
Embellishment: Ribbon

I decided to do a one layer card again this week.  This shows that you can create a hand stamped card for some one without spending lots of time.  Though I personally like to layer this would be the kind of  card I would make when I need something quick and easy.  Did you notice?  Fabulous Florets again today...one of my favorites!  Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp Set: Fabulous Florets
Ink: Black
Card Stock: Whisper White
Accessories: 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain

Sympathy Card using Fabulous Florets

Hi All!  Haven't posted for several days due to my schedule so I wanted to make a quick post before heading out to lunch.   Sad to say I need to send a sympathy card today.

I decided to use the Fabulous Florets from the Summer Mini Catalog because that is becoming one of my all time favorite flower stamps.  It can be used in so many ways.  I used a non Stampin' Up! sentiment on my card today because I found I don't have one that was appropriate.  I know I will be fixing that as soon as the new catalog comes out!

I colored the flowers with Stampin' Up! markers and our Aqua Painter.  Though I wanted my flowers dark today the painters can do a beautiful job on a light watercolor effect.  The ribbon is the 1/2 inch seam binding in crumb cake.  It is also one of my favorites especially when I'm looking for a soft ribbon effect.

The close up shows the 3D effect of the flowers and the shimmer the seam binding gives your card.  This card could be used for many occasions just by changing the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. Gotta run...hope you have a wonderful day!
